Entanglement is a two-person exhibition bringing together sculptor Alina Rom Cohen and artist-researcher Reuven Zehavi, developed through an extended dialogue over the past year at Nulobaz Gallery.
The conversations that shaped the exhibition addressed the status of art in times of war, gender relations within the world of ballet, and the histories and mechanisms of exploitation and control.
The exhibition presents two autonomous yet interrelated bodies of work. Rom Cohen exhibits glass sculptures of ballet dancers, drawing inspiration from The Dying Swan and exploring fragility, exposure, and the tension between form and collapse. Zehavi presents large-scale watercolours and bronze sculptures of ropes, informed by his research into magical practices and material culture associated with survival, power, and resistance.
Together, the works invite an open reading of entanglement as both a physical condition and a metaphor for dependence, vulnerability, memory, and the persistent struggle for freedom.
