A collaborative contemporary art space founded in Tel Aviv in 2017 by a group of artists working together within a shared, artist-led framework. Since its inception, the gallery has functioned as a site for exhibitions, performances, music events, readings and conversations, fostering direct encounters between artists, artworks and audiences.
The character of the exhibitions changes from artist to artist and spans a wide range of media, including painting, photography, sculpture, installation, performance and more. Nulobaz places a strong emphasis on individual artistic inquiry and creative freedom, fostering original and rigorous practices within a contemporary reality where such freedoms cannot be taken for granted. Through this approach, the gallery supports long-term engagement, collaboration and sustained presence within the local art scene, inviting artists, curators and visitors to take part in an ongoing, evolving conversation. The gallery is conceived as a space of attentiveness, encounter and shared presence, shaped anew with each exhibition. Operating today in Kiriyat Hamelacha, Nulobaz is located at 3 Shvil Hameretz, 3rd floor, Tel Aviv.
The name Nulobaz originates from the gallery’s first location on Zebulon Street and is derived from a reversal of the street’s letters – a small trace of its beginnings that continues to resonate in its present form.
